Maine Boaters Prepare For High Tide

One big concern is dangerous seas with astronomical high tides.

Timothy Somers says his boat could have easily been destroyed this week, instead, it's stuck on a dock. "It literally picked me up into the air," Somers said. "The whole boat rose with me in it."

Severe weather this week in Maine has nearby marina's on notice.

Dimillo's Marina in Portland has alerted its tenants to the threat of Hurricane Joaquin. They're adding extra lines and fenders.

The National Weather Service in Gray, Maine says New England should dodge the bullet.

But even if the storm heads east, there will still be coastal flooding.

As Joaquin approaches, the Coast Guard is warning boaters about high winds and breaking waves.
