Maine Corrections Officer Wrestles Down Man During Break-in

Police say a man suspected to be under the influence of drugs broke into a Maine home, only to encounter a 6-foot-2-inch, 330-pound corrections officer.

Anthony Jones, 35, broke into the Limington home Tuesday afternoon, according to York County police.

Jones allegedly told York County Jail employee Sean Wilson he was being pursued. Sheriff William King Jr. says he was sweating, bleeding from the mouth and appeared to be in "excited delirium."

Wilson ordered him to lie on the floor. However, King says he instead began walking toward where Wilson's two 4-year-old children were hiding.

Wilson wrestled him to the ground and held him there until officers arrived. He was taken to a hospital for observation.

King says Jones did not know Wilson and "simply picked the wrong house to burglarize."

Police later learned that Jones was wanted for violating probation in connection with a domestic incident in Cumberland County, according to WCSH.

He was taken to jail after he was released from the hospital. It's not clear if he has an attorney.
