Maine Sets Record for Most Meth Lab Incidents

Drug officials responded to the 40th incident of the year on Tuesday

Maine drug agents say they responded to their 40th meth lab related incident of 2015 on Tuesday, the most they've ever seen in one year. The previous record was 37 in 2014.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said it had been investigating the suspected manufacture of methamphetamine inside a mobile home at 45 Main Road, also know as Route 2, in Greenbush. Around 8 p.m. Tuesday, a response team entered the mobile home and seized a significant amount of evidence related to the manufacturing of methamphetimine.

Investigators say the suspect is a man who had been staying at the mobile home, but is not the owner. He has not been located and his name is not being released at this time.

The Maine DEA was assisted at the scene by the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, the Maine Fire Marshal's Office, the Greenbush Fire Department and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
