A high school teacher in Maine is charged with possessing child pornography.
Gerald White, 44, of Freeport was arrested Wednesday by the Computer Crimes Unit at his home.
White, an art teacher at Portland High School, is charged with possessing sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 12.
His computer was seized and an initial examination showed dozens of images of child porn, but none of the children depicted are believed to be from Maine.
The investigation began after the Computer Crimes Unit followed up on a tip.
White was taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
