A man was killed Friday morning in an all-terrain vehicle crash in Limington, Maine, necn affiliate WCSH reports.
According to the York County Sheriff's Office, 48-year-old Austin Pennell of Limington was not wearing a helmet when he apparently hit a rock along an embankment and lost control of his ATV.
The crash occurred in the roadway just north of the intersection of Mood Road and Route 117.

While the investigation is still underway, Sheriff William King said it is likely Pannell was thrown from the vehicle.
First responders from Limington Fire and Rescue brought him to Maine Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead later that evening.
The crash remains under investigation.
