A grand jury is indicting a 22-year-old Wilton, Maine, man charged with killing his grandmother with a hammer.

The Morning Sentinel reports a grand jury finds there is probable cause for the case against Dana Craney to go to trial. Police say he told investigators he attacked 67-year-old Joanne Goudreau in her bed and then dragged her body outside. Police say Craney covered Goudreau with plywood and trash bags after the attack.

Police say Craney told them that Goudreau abused him and he "needed to end it." An autopsy report says Goudreau died of head injuries.

Craney is due in court in Farmington on Friday for a bail hearing. Police say the attack happened in Goudreau's Wilton home. Craney faces a murder charge.
