Man Leads Police on 43-Mile Chase Through 8 Maine Towns

Zachary Yahn, 27, of Dixfield, is facing charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and eluding a police officer

A Maine man who led police on a 43-mile chase across eight towns on Sunday is facing numerous charges, according to state police.

Zachary Yahn, 27, of Dixfield, is facing charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and eluding a police officer. More charges are expected.

Police say the episode unfolded with a 911 call about a man with a gun at a convenience store in Dixfield. The man, later identified as Yahn, fled the scene in a vehicle.

Mexico police spotted Yahn's car and said he led officers through eight towns from Mexico to Woodstock and then to Rumford.

Police say Yahn managed to avoid spike mats before police eventually stopped his car at the intersection of Congress Street and Route 108 in Rumford.

It's unclear when Yahn will be arraigned or if he has a lawyer.
