The Maine Marine Patrol is investigating the death of a recreational diver off Monhegan Island.
Officials say 61-year old Anna Krowczynska of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, was diving off the island's eastern tip in 25 feet of water when she failed to return to a dive boat Saturday morning.
She was found by one of the four other members of her party from Massachusetts, and was brought to the surface where CPR was performed. She was pronounced dead after being taken to Port Clyde.
The Maine Marine Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances around the drowning. The charter dive boat was operated by Dave Sinclair, Owner of Sea Ventures Charters of Wayne, Maine.
