Body of Missing Boy Found in Presumpscot River in Maine

According to police, Mohammed al Ammar was kayaking with his friend when their boat flipped over

Emergency crews found the body of a missing 14-year-old boy submerged in the Presumpscot River in Falmouth, Maine on Friday morning.

According to necn affiliate WCSH, police said Mohammed al Ammar was kayaking with his friend when their boat flipped over. His friend was able to make it to the shore and survived. Police believe Ammar did not wear a life jacket.

The call regarding the missing kayaker came in Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The search in the river started Thursday night and lasted through Friday morning, closing off traffic on the Allen Avenue Extension Bridge in Falmouth, Maine.
