New Gruesome Details Come to Light in Maine Teen's Murder

New details are highlighting the gruesome death of a Maine teenager killed last week, allegedly at the hand of her former classmate.

According to an affidavit released Friday, obtained by WCSH-TV, 19-year-old Mikaela Conley died from blunt force trauma to the head and strangulation.

Police said Conley was reported missing from her home in Bar Harbor on May 31. She was found dead two days later near a Bar Harbor elementary school.

Investigators arrested and charged her former Mount Desert High School classmate, 21-year-old Jalique Keene, in her murder.

According to the affidavit, Keene was seen on a security camera dragging Conley's body across a school playground near the area where she was later found.

Conley and Keene once attended Mount Desert Island High School together, according to WCSH-TV.

Keene was denied bail when he made his first court appearance. He is being charged with murder in connection to Conley's death.
