A York County Sheriff’s Deputy was allegedly beat by a man who broke into a Newfield, Maine, home while high on drugs, according to police.
According to necn affiliate WCSH, Trevor Cox, 19, of Lynnfield, Massachusetts, approached the homeowners at their home around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, saying someone was after him.
The homeowners told police he tried to enter the home, but eventually backed off when the family dog growled at him.
They say Cox then got into a heated argument with two men who approached him and punched his arm through a window, cutting himself. The two men then drove off.
The homeowners called police and a responding officer tried to arrest Cox, but Cox broke free and assaulted the officer.
Cox allegedly continued to attack, even after several Taser hits. He was eventually subdued by a second eputy and arrested for Aggravated Criminal Trespass and Assault on a Police Officer.
The officer was treated for injuries at a local hospital.
