1 Dead, 1 Arrested in Shooting in Sebago, Maine

Maine state police say one man is dead and another is in custody after a shooting in Sebago.

State police say 66-year-old Charles Cross was shot Saturday outside the home he shared with his longtime girlfriend, 59-year-old Paula Simonds, who called police.

State police spokesman Stephen McCausland says the suspected shooter was taken into custody by Bridgton police, who stopped his car soon after the shooting.

He says 67-year-old David Pinkham of Bridgton was charged with murder and was held at the Cumberland County Jail, where it was unclear if he had a lawyer.

Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the violence. McCausland said the two men know each other, but did have further information.
