Police: 8 Injured When Vans Collide on Road in Thorndike, Maine

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation

State police say eight people were injured Sunday when two vans collided in Thorndike, Maine.

Authorities said the crash happened on Route 220 when a van attempted to turn onto Crosby Brook Road and somehow crossed into a second van.

The first van was carrying students from the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, police said.

Police said most of the victims were taken to two area hospitals and one was taken by medical helicopter to a hospital in Bangor. Most of the serious injuries were a broken wrist and some facial injuries.
