An officer-involved shooting took place early Wednesday morning in Lovell, Maine.
Authorities responded to a residence on Nuthatch Rd. after receiving a 911 call reporting a man with a gun creating a disturbance.
An armed confrontation between Dennis Buffington, 31, and law enforcement officers followed.
Buffington was shot and wounded; no one else was injured.
The shooting is being investigated by the Attorney General's Office.
As is normal practice in an officer-involved shooting, Cpl. George Cayer has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is being conducted.
