Police: Woman Crashes Car Into Dunkin' Donuts

There were no customers inside when the collision occurred

Officials say no injuries were reported after a driver crashed her car into the glassed-in dining area of a Dunkin' Donuts on Main Street in South Portland, Maine.

Sgt. John Sutton says the driver was pulling into a parking space when her vehicle jumped the curb and crashed through the store's front wall Sunday afternoon. The car traveled about 5 feet inside the coffee shop before coming to a stop.

There were no customers inside when the collision occurred. Three employees were in a back room.

Sutton says the woman didn't exhibit any signs of impairment and wasn't charged. Investigators suspect the woman's foot may have slipped and hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The woman's vehicle was towed from the scene. Police didn't identify her.
