Portland Sea Dogs Hope to Play on Reschedule Opening Day

The original opening day set for April 1 was cancelled due to snow

It was a mad scramble but the Portland Sea Dogs are ready to play ball-if the weather cooperates.

Team officials report that all of the snow that fell on April Fools' Day has been cleared and that the field is in good shape for Thursday's Opening Day.

Former Portland Sea Dog and Boston Red Sox Kevin Youkilis will throw out the ceremonial first-pitch.

But the weather remains a question mark. The temperature at game time is projected to be a chilly 39 degrees and there's a forecast of rain, possibly heavy.
