A 23-year-old skateboarder was killed on the campus of Unity College early Wednesday morning.

Police say Christopher Garbinski of Unity, Maine, died as a result of his injuries sustained in a crash.

Garbinski, who was not a student at the college, was riding on a skateboard along with his two roommates who were riding on theirs. The trio had been visiting friends on the campus.

Authorities say Garbinski crashed into several birch trees off Quaker Hill Rd. The two other men, identified as Sylvanus Egerton, 27, and Luke Munster, 24, both also from Unity, also crashed in the same area, but sustained minor injuries.

The Medical Examiner's Office will examine the body to determine the cause of death.
