The mother of a Maine man murdered along Interstate 81 in Pennsylvania nearly two years ago says she's relieved a suspect has been charged.
But Theresa Allocca told the Portland Press Herald in a story published Monday she's disappointed a key witness did not come forward until more than a year later, after the suspect in her son's death was charged with another murder.
Pennsylvania State Police on Monday charged a West Virginia man, 38-year-old John Wayne Strawser Jr., in the murder of Allocca's son, Timothy Davison of Poland, Maine.
Lt. Jonathan Mays says Davison's death appears to have been a case of mistaken identity. Police say Strawser may have mistaken Davison's SUV for the vehicle of a couple who were in the same area and were being threatened by Strawser.
