Maine Teens Arrested After Vandalism Spree Fueled by Booze, Pot, Dislike of Rap Music

Police said the mini crime wave was fueled by alcohol, marijuana and the dislike of one of the victim's choices in rap music

Maine State Police have charged five teenage boys in connection with a vandalism spree that left behind several thousand dollars in damage to homes and vehicles in Chelsea and Augusta last weekend.

Police said the mini crime wave was fueled by alcohol, marijuana and the dislike of one of the victim's choices in rap music.

Windows were smashed at three houses in Chelsea and Augusta, and several mailboxes and a car and a truck were also damaged. Most of the damage to the houses was caused by large items, such as cement blocks and garden equipment, that were thrown through windows during the early morning hours on Sunday.

Nathaniel Thibeau, 18, of Randolph, and Spencer King, 18, of Gardiner, and three 17-year-olds from Randolph, West Gardiner, and Brunswick whose names are not being released because they are minors were charged with aggravated criminal mischief.  Patrick Simmons, 21, of Gardiner, was also charged with furnishing alcohol to minors.
