Truck Carrying Coca-Cola Goods Catches Fire in Maine

Maine State Police say a 2017 Kenworth tractor-trailer carrying Coca-Cola products caught fire and was destroyed on the Maine Turnpike in Kennebunk early Monday.

The driver, 46-year-old Corey White from Virginia, was headed north to Bangor when he discovered the fire and pulled into the breakdown lane, officials said. The incident closed all three northbound lanes as authorities arrived to contain the situation.

The load of soda aboard the 2017 Kenworth, owned by the Bale Brothers from Fayetville, North Carolina, was destroyed in the blaze. The truck's trailer, owned by Falcon Transportation of Presque Isle, was lost as well.

The investigation is ongoing.
