Trial Beginning for Man Accused of Killing Girlfriend

A jury has been selected and opening statements are scheduled for Monday in the trial of Justin Pillsbury of Augusta

The trial is getting underway for a Maine man accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend after an argument over her talking to another man on the phone.

A jury has been selected and opening statements are scheduled for Monday in the trial of Justin Pillsbury of Augusta.

A third roommate told police that Pillsbury was jealous because he had caught his live-in girlfriend, Jillian Jones, talking to another man on the phone. Neighbors in the apartment building reported hearing an argument on the night she died in November 2013.

The crime was scene was discovered by a roommate, who arrived to find Jones dead and Pillsbury unconscious with self-inflicted stab wounds. Pillsbury has been jailed since his release from the hospital.
