A Maine woman who pleaded guilty in a 2014 fatal car crash in Monmouth has been sentenced to 32 months in prison.
The Kennebec Journal reports an Augusta judge sentenced 24-year-old Alyssa Marcellino, of Winthrop, on Wednesday.
She pleaded guilty last month to causing a death while her license was suspended or revoked, and other offenses.
Prosecutors said Marcellino's right to have a driver's license was suspended at the time of the March 2014 crash. The head-on-collision killed 67-year-old Joan Fortier, of Mount Vernon, and seriously injured Fortier's sister.
Prosecutors said Marcellino drifted into the wrong lane, and then tried to return to the travel lane, resulting in a collision.
Marcellino apologized to the victim's family and said she "had no right to be on the road that day."
