Police say a person is dead after a crash Thursday in Malden, Massachusetts.
The crash happened on Broadway between Eastern Avenue and the Waite Street extension, police said.
The street was closed to vehicles and pedestrians in the area Thursday afternoon.
Two people, both men in their 20s, were on a moped when the crash occurred, police said. The moped could be seen under an SUV, whose driver remained at the scene.
One of the men was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 23-year-old Stiven Rojas Ramirez, of Boston. The other man was also being treated, but police did not have any information about his condition.
Investigators could be seen collecting evidence, including a helmet, shoes and what appeared to be pieces of a headlight.
The Middlesex County District Attorney's Office confirmed it is investigating.
