Man Accused of Shooting Neighbors Dog to Face Trial

Police arrested 43-year-old Andrew Freisinger in September after they say he shot 1-year-old Mya as she was running across the front yard of his Epping home

A New Hampshire man who police say shot his neighbor's pit bull in the face is facing a trial this spring.

Police arrested 43-year-old Andrew Freisinger in September after they say he shot 1-year-old Mya as she was running across the front yard of his Epping home. The shot left a bullet hole on her left cheek and took off a part of her tongue.

The Portsmouth Herald reports
Freisinger will stand trial in May on charges of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and purposeful cruelty to animals.

The dog owner's mother has said Freisinger looked at her and "smirked" when he fired. Freisinger's attorney has argued his client fired as the dog approached him and that the dog had previously killed two of his chickens.
