Man Charged With Fatally Shooting His Uncle at NH Restaurant

Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting outside of a restaurant in Derry, New Hampshire, on Wednesday.

John Kratz, 27, of Candia, is accused of fatally shooting his uncle, 64-year-old John Kratz Jr., in the head at the Lobster Claw II restaurant on South Main Street shortly before 6 p.m.

Responding officers found Kratz Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy was conducted Friday and determined the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head. The manner of death was homicide.

Kratz is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death.

Kratz was arraigned Thursday in Rockingham County Superior Court and ordered held without bail. It is unclear if he has a lawyer.
