A Portsmouth, New Hampshire man was charged Thursday with possession and distribution of child sexual abuse images.
Portsmouth Police, in conjunction with the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, executed a search warrant Thursday at 9 Kent St. in Portsmouth. The warrant was issued following a months-long investigation into the illegal use of computers and the distribution and possession of child sexual abuse images.
Tyrone A. Jarest, 50, of 9 Kent St. was charged with one count of possesson of child sexual abuse images, two counts of distribution of child sexual abuse images and two counts of possession of controlled drugs. Police said additional charges could still be filed.
Jarest is being held on $40,000 bail and is scheduled for a video arraignment on Friday.
