A Florida man is facing federal drug charges after agents say he was found at the Derby Line port of entry in Vermont to Canada with cocaine hidden in a hollowed out loaf of bread.
Prosecutors say a car driven by 34-year-old Tyrone Dixon was headed north on Interstate 91 in Derby Line Monday when it made an illegal U-turn between the U.S. and Canadian border posts
Federal agents searched the car after it was stopped on the Vermont side of the border and they found 84 grams of crack cocaine hidden in a loaf of bread. They also found heroin in the clothing of a passenger.
Dixon was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. He was released.
Dixon's attorney did not return a call seeking comment.
