A Portsmouth, New Hampshire, man who admitted to assaulting women he met online who were working as escorts is heading to prison.
The Portsmouth Herald reports 22-year-old James Banks was sentenced to a year behind bars on Wednesday. Banks pleaded guilty to assault charges against two women and a criminal restraint charge against a third woman.
Banks was arrested last year on charges he restrained, threatened and raped the women. Wednesday's plea deal came after a mistrial was declared last month when one of the women lied on the witness stand.
Banks had said during his arraignment that he had a drug problem in New York and came to the area to better himself.
