Man Dies in Shooting in Dorchester, 15-Year-Old Arrested

A 15-year-old was arrested but police and prosecutors could not confirm if he was the shooter

A man died after being wounded in a shooting in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood Wednesday, according to police and local prosecutors.

The man was shot in the area of Cameron Street near Hancock Street sometime before 12:11 p.m., police said. The man was critically wounded in the shooting.

The shooting victim later died, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.

A 15-year-old with a gun was arrested in connection to the shooting, police said, but they could not confirm if the teen was the shooter. A gun was found during the investigation.

Prosecutors confirmed that a 15-year-old was arrested but couldn't say either if the teen was the shooter. They also said the street is a frequent site of criminal activity.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information about it is encouraged to come forward to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.
