SWAT Team Responds After 2 Shot at Hotel

Shooting at Knights Inn reported late Wednesday, drew response of SWAT team

Two people have been taken to a hospital and a Wisconsin man is in custody after a late night shooting at a Massachusetts hotel.

The shooting at the Knights Inn in Danvers was reported at about 11 p.m. Wednesday and drew the response of a SWAT team.

Police say one victim was shot in the upper thigh and one in the knee, and both had lost a lot of blood and were "screaming in pain." Their names were not immediately released.

A suspect, identified by police as 27-year-old Jonathan Alequin of La Crosse, Wisconsin, was arrested and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.

Hotel management told guests to lie on the floor to avoid getting shot.

The suspect told police he acted in self-defense because the other men threatened him.
