One person is in custody after a police pursuit that spanned several Massachusetts communities following a reported attempted break-in at a home on Wednesday.
Steven Hoxie, 45, of South Boston, is facing charges including two counts of breaking and entering into a residence during the daytime to commit a felony and receiving stolen property over $250.
Concord police say officers responded around 1:20 p.m. to a 911 call from an Emerson Road resident who reported that an unknown man tried to break into the home.
That resident provided a description of Hoxie and the vehicle he was driving.
Police say Hoxie was located in the vehicle in the area of Route 2 and Sudbury Road and a motor vehicle chase ensued.
That chase lasted until Hoxie tried to stop in a parking garage on Trapelo Road in Waltham, where he drove the vehicle through the gate and crashed the car before fleeing on foot.
Police apprehended Hoxie and determined the car he was driving had been reported stolen out of Quincy earlier Wednesday.
