1 Firefighter, 1 Resident Taken to Hospital After 2-Alarm Fire in Brookline, Mass.

Crews said the fire appeared to have started in the rear of the building

One firefighter was taken to a hospital and a resident is in serious condition after an early-morning two-alarm fire in Brookline, Massachusetts.

According to Brookline Fire, the fire broke out at 30 Cypress St. around 3:30 a.m.

Crews said the fire appeared to have started in the rear of the building.

There was heavy fire damage on the second and third floor and water damage on the first floor.

A woman rescued from the third floor is in serious condition.

The fire is under investigation.
