17-Year-Old Arrested in Green St. MBTA Station Stabbing

Police say a 17-year-old male suspect is charged in connection with the stabbing

A 17-year-old was arrested in a stabbing at the Green Street MBTA station in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood on Friday.

Officials say the stabbing happened on the platform of the station around 3:15 p.m. on Friday.

The 17-year-old male was arrested and charged for allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old male, who sustained serious injuries in the attack, said police.

Authorities are saying that the injuries sustained by the victim are not life-threatening.

The identities of the victim and suspect have not been released at this time.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear.

The station was closed for an hour after the incident pending an investigation. The station reopened around 4:30 p.m. and trains are operating as normal, said authorities.
