2 Arrested in String of Car Break-Ins

Police in Burlington, Massachusetts, have arrested two people in connection with overnight car break-ins.

Officers responded to the Beacon Village and Avalon apartment complexes Wednesday night after receiving numerous reports that vehicles were broken into and items were missing.

On Thursday, an employee at a local convenience store contacted police after seeing two men throw credit cards and a wallet into a trash bin. The employee obtained a description of their vehicle and its registration number.

Police stopped the vehicle around 8:30 a.m. on Center Street near the Eaves Burlington apartment complex. Stolen property and credit cards were located in the vehicle.

Thomas Contrino, 20, of Woburn and Devin D'Auria, 22, of Burlington are charged with receiving stolen property over $250 and attempt to commit a crime. Contrino was additionally charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The men will be held pending their arraignment in Woburn District Court.

Police are searching for a third suspect. The investigation is on-going.
