Two people are in critical condition after a serious wrong-way crash on Rte. 128 north, in Lexington, Massachusetts, early Tuesday morning.
One driver, a 20-year-old Wayland woman, and a second driver, a 27-year-old Dracut man, were taken with serious injuries to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, where they are in critical condition.
According to police, a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lane at 4:15 a.m. crashed head-on into a car traveling north. The crash happened prior to exit 32 at Rte. 3. Police said they are still determining which car was traveling the wrong way.
All travel lanes are now open after the highway was closed for two hours during the emergency response and accident investigation.
Police said there were no passengers.
