Man Pleads Not Guilty in Fatal Shooting in Cambridge, Massachusetts

A 26-year-old Massachusetts man has pleaded not guilty to charges that he fatally shot a man in a car earlier this month.

Rooslin Altidor entered the plea during his arraignment Monday in Cambridge District Court. The Medford man was held without bail.

Authorities say 31-year-old Rasaun Nichols was sitting in his girlfriend's car on Aug. 12 when Altidor fired nine shots into the windshield. Nichols' girlfriend drove toward a hospital, but stopped to get help before she got there. Police say Nichols died shortly after they arrived.

Police say Nichols' mother told investigators the men fought in a Cambridge park a month ago, but it's not clear what sparked the fight.

Altidor was arrested Friday after police determined his handgun fired the shell casings recovered at the scene.
