3 Arrested on Heroin Trafficking Charges

Investigators were conducting surveillance at Home Depot in Tewksbury, Mass.

Three people were arrested in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, on Tuesday for trafficking heroin and conspiracy.

Investigators were conducting surveillance at the Home Depot in town when they observed all three individuals acting suspiciously in the parking lot.

A stop of Wellington Tejada's vehicle was made on Main Street. Tejada, 34, of Lynn became combative with officers, and was subdued after a brief struggle.

Located inside Tejada's vehicle was 1500 grams of heroin, with an estimated street value of $300,000.

Tejada also had an active immigration detainer for deportation from the Department of Homeland Security. He was also charged with resisting arrest.

All three suspects, including Harry Marte, 39, of Lawrence, and Bernardino Planco, 44, are due to be arraigned at Lowell District Court.
