3 Brothers Indicted in Fatal Beating, Robbery

Three brothers have been indicted for murder in the death of a man who was assaulted and robbed in Massachusetts.

Masslive.com reports 22-year-old Joseph Rivera and 31-year-old Roberto Rivera, both of Holyoke, and 32-year-old Edwin Rivera, of Mars Hill, North Carolina were indicted for murder on June 29.

The brothers had pleaded not guilty to murder in district court before the case was heard by a grand jury in May.

The brothers were indicted in May on charges of assault and battery and unarmed robbery, but not murder. Prosecutors have declined to say if they presented the case again for a grand jury indictment.

The victim, identified as 25-year-old Adam Rei, was found unconscious on a sidewalk in February. He died several days later on Feb. 14.
