3 Indicted in Murder of Woman Whose Body Was Found at Rest Stop

Indictments have been returned against three Massachusetts residents accused of murdering a Hyannis woman and leaving her body at a Cape Cod highway rest stop.

Cape & Islands' district attorney announced the indictments against Denzel Chisholm, Shannell Chisholm and Tyrone Gomes in the murder of 28-year-old Christine Ferreira on Friday.

Ferreira's body was found at a Route 6 rest stop September 2015. Police say she died from multiple stab and gunshot wounds.

The trio was arrested and charged in early April this year; their arrests coincided with the bust of one of Cape Cod's largest alleged drug ring gangs.

Ferreira was killed in retaliation for her testimony against another gang member, according to investigators.

All were indicted on murder, kidnapping, conspiracy and intimidation charges; 25-year-old Denzel Chisholm of Yarmouth was also indicted on two charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and firearms each.

The DA says all three will be arraigned in the weeks to come in Barnstable Superior Court.

It's unclear if they have attorneys.
