30-Year-Old Man Shot in Roslindale: Boston Police

A 30-year-old man was shot Thursday in Boston's Roslindale neighborhood, according to police.

The shooting was reported shortly before midnight in the area of 83 Wellsmere Road, police said. The injuries appeared to be non-life threatening and no arrests were made.

Boston has recently seen a spike in violence, with Mayor Marty Walsh and Police Commissioner William Gross addressing the issue.

"As I've said before, you can't arrest our way out of what's happening in the city," Walsh said last week. "We will arrest people that do bad things, but what we'd like to do is get them before they do a bad thing and put them on a path to success."

The investigation into Thursday night's shooting is ongoing.
