A 56-year-old Brockton, Massachusetts, man charged with raping and impregnating a 12-year-old girl has pleaded guilty.
The Enterprise reports Elbert Richardson was sentenced Tuesday in Brockton to 12 to 13 years in state prison after pleading guilty to charges including aggravated rape of a child and rape of a child.
The girl's mother took her daughter to the hospital in November 2014 and was told the girl was eight months pregnant.
Richardson's wife had said a 13-year-old boy from the neighborhood is the father. But two paternity tests identified Richardson as the father of the girl's baby in August.
The girl gave birth last January.
