Police in Saugus, Massachusetts, are urging anyone who may have witnessed the carjacking of a 90-year-old man to come forward with any information they might have.
Authorities responded Tuesday morning to a report of a carjacking at the Stop & Shop on Main Street.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim had been attacked and was bleeding on the sidewalk.
The Saugus man describes his attacker as a male about 5'7" with dark hair, wearing long pants. The suspect stole the elderly victim's 2001 Ford Focus, brown in color, with license plate: MA 868 NHV.
The victim declined transportation to the hospital and instead, a police officer drove him to a relative's house.
Police located the vehicle abandoned Wednesday morning at the Melrose Department of Public Works. Officials will conduct a complete forensic review of the vehicle.
