Arrest Made in Boston Road Rage Incident

A 64-year-old man was arrested, Sunday afternoon, for an incident of road rage on interstate 93.

A Massachusetts man is accused of pointing a gun at another driver during a road rage incident on I-93 in Boston on Sunday afternoon.

Gary Moniz, 64, of Fall River pulled a handgun and pointed it at the driver of a Kia Forte, state police said.

Prosecutors say Monez, who had just moved to Fall River, honked his horn at another driver yesterday afternoon in the O'Neil tunnel. The driver got out of his car and threw a coffee onto the hood of Moniz's vehicle.

That's when the defense says the former scientist, now truck-driver, raised his gun, "fearing for his own safety."

Moniz was apprehended near Exit 15 in Boston and taken into custody without incident. Investigators found a loaded 9mm Beretta handgun in his vehicle, for which Moniz did not have a license.

Moniz is scheduled to appear in Dorchester District Court Monday morning.
