Authorities Investigating Armed Home Invasion in Worcester, Massachusetts

Authorities are investigating an armed home invasion in Massachusetts after three men broke into an apartment where a family of six lived.

Worcester police say they got a call just after 1 a.m. Tuesday for a reported home invasion on Orient Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 33-year-old man who said three men wearing dark clothing and armed with handguns and a crowbar barged their way into his home as he watched TV in a bedroom while his family slept.

The victim heard a loud bang on his front door, and when he got out of bed to see what it was, he saw the suspects running up the stairs to him, police said.

The man tried to shut the bedroom door, but the suspects burst their way in and demanded money, eventually taking cash from the victim.

The suspects also stole cash from the man's wife and a 16-year-old's purses, according to police.

No one was injured in the home invasion.
