Boston Harbor Cruise Captain Suspended After Cruise Runs Aground

The "Majesty" ran aground near Georges Island Saturday night and more than 130 people from a wedding party had to be evacuated

The captain of a Boston Harbor Cruise ship has been suspended after his ship ran aground over the weekend.

Boston Harbor Cruises confirmed to necn that they'll conduct an investigation into what led up to the incident.

The "Majesty" ran aground near Georges Island Saturday night and more than 130 people from a wedding party had to be evacuated.

There were no injuries.

The captain has not been identified, but Boston Harbor Cruises said the captain has 27 years of experience.

Boston Harbor Cruises said it anticipates operator error in its investigation.
