Boston Mayor Walsh Launches Opioid Abuse Program

The program is called FAITH, or “Fighting Addiction in the Hub"

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh has launched a new program Friday aimed at educating people about opioid abuse.

The program is called FAITH, or “Fighting Addiction in the Hub.”

The program is also meant to provide the tools to combat the problem. It will be a joint effort between first responders, the courts, neighborhoods and political leaders.

Walsh as well as Boston Fire Commissioner Joseph Finn and a number of other law enforcement officials were in Dorchester to announce the program.

Walsh said, "It's really about raising awareness, more awareness and doing more than just talking about the issue of addiction and actually talking about programming and how do we do more."
