Boston Police Department Requiring Constables to Be Fingerprinted

The department is notifying current constables that they must be fingerprinted before February 15

The Boston Police Department is making changes to how their constables operate, starting with how they are vetted.

According to the Boston Globe, the department is notifying current constables that they must be fingerprinted before February 15.

This is so authorities can run out-of-state background checks against them.

The move comes a month after Boston constable Kirk Figueroa critically wounded two Boston officers responding to a domestic dispute.

Figueroa was killed in the shootout, but had a criminal record in the state of Georgia.
