Bourne Man Dies in Two-Car Crash

Police: Man apparently suffered medical issue

A 73-year-old Bourne man was killed Friday morning in a two-car crash on Route 3 in Plymouth, Massachusetts after apparently suffering a medical problem while driving, state police said.

Frank A. Valas was taken to Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth, where he was pronounced dead, state police said. The identity and condition of the driver of the second car, a 46-year-old Taunton man, was unavailable.

The accident occurred at 9:44 a.m. on Route 3 northbound.

Bourne State Police said Valas was driving a 2007 Ford Freestar when it struck a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Valas' car then swerved off the road and struck a tree, police said.

State police are investigating the accident.
