Brady Cuts Finger Before Pats Preseason Game, According to Reports

Brady reportedly cut his thumb with scissors prior to the Patriots preseason game

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady cut his right thumb with scissors prior to the Thursday preseason game with the Chicago Bears, according to several reports.

Brady was scheduled to start the game, but reportedly sliced his thumb attempting to remove something from his cleats before the game and was subsequently sent home.

When Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was asked at the postgame news conference about reports that Brady cut his thumb, he responded, " I made the decision for him not to play tonight."

Reports are that Brady's injury is not serious.

The Patriots beat the Bears 23-22.
