Police have located a car they think was involved in a hit-and-run pedestrian death in Springfield, Massachusetts, last month.

A department spokesman says tips from the public led to the discovery of the 2006 Nissan Maxima.

Police are going over the car and questioning witnesses but there had been no arrests as of Monday.

The victim, 52-year-old James Heath, was struck as at about 10:30 p.m. on May 29 in the city's Forest Park neighborhood by a vehicle that then left the scene.

Heath was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
